1922 Gymnasium

1922 – 1941

The gym at the high school in the 1200 block of Vandalia Street was extensively remodeled, removing the three support posts that had been staggered across the gym floor. Improvements included more out-of-bounds space around the floor, more seating at the floor level, a balcony on all sides, and locker rooms. The last game played in this venue was on February 18, 1941. The Kahoks defeated East St. Louis, 44-30. With the addition of the new gym to the north of the main school building, this space was split into two floors, with the top floor serving as the library and the bottom as the cafeteria.
